Swimming in a cold lake as a morning ritual: connecting with nature and the present moment. #icebath #cold #engadin #retreat #sadhana
A little glimpse behind the scenes of our recent photoshoot in beautiful Sils. This summer, we’re incredibly grateful to be collaborating with the Hotel @chesamarchetta and to offer our Cold Plunge Experience to their guests. For the shoot, we couldn't have asked for a more fitting location. Nestled in the heart of Sils, surrounded by breathtaking nature and the crystal-clear lake, Chesa Marchetta is a place full of character and stories. Newly opened this past winter, each of its 13 rooms has been thoughtfully designed by Luis Laplace, celebrating the history of the hotel, the Engadin, and its local artisans. Our Cold Plunge Experience starts right at the hotel with a mindful walk to the lake, followed by breathwork to arrive fully in the body and a refreshing dip in the cold water. Afterwards, guests return for a nourishing breakfast. The perfect way to begin the day.Capturing this experience through the lens, with the stunning scenery of Sils as our backdrop, felt truly special.A heartfelt thank you to @chesamarchetta for making this collaboration possible. We can't wait to share more of what's to come this summer.#ChesaMarchetta #Sils #Engadin #ColdPlungeExperience #BehindTheScenes Breathwork ColdWaterTherapy SwissAlps
You pull up a gravel road that winds through olive trees and rolling hills. The air smells like wild herbs and the sea, even though the coastline is still hidden beyond the mountains. The owner greets you with a coffee and a smile before handing over a set of keys."Take your time. Imagine your guests are already here."You walk through the property, mentally mapping out the retreat:Morning yoga as the sun rises over the valley.Long communal brunch under a pergola.Lazy days at the pool, boat trips and hikesSunset dinners / BBQ's featuring local olive oil, fresh vegetables and fruits. You stop at the edge of the property. The view stretches across green mountains. You check your notes:✅ Enough rooms
✅ Away from mass tourism
✅ Space for group activities
✅ Incredible scenery
✅ Guests will never want to leaveYou look up one more time and think:"Okay... this might be the one."

The Alpine Reset
Lej da Staz — 04–06 September 2026Set at one of the many beautiful lakes in Engadin, this retreat takes place directly at the water, surrounded by forest and mountain light.Lej da Staz has a very particular atmosphere in the early hours. The lake is still, the air is cool, and you move before the day begins around you.The structure is simple.Morning yoga on the wooden dock, long breakfasts outside, time to walk, swim, or do nothing. In the afternoon, we head into nature, sometimes towards another alpine lake. Evenings are slower again.Cold exposure is part of the experience, but guided step by step. You prepare with breathwork, enter the water at your own pace, and stay as long as it feels right. The lake in September is clear and cold, usually around 10–14°C.A private lakeside sauna, heated with firewood, is available only to our group. Warmth and cold, just a few steps apart.Food is an essential part of this retreat. Together with Jana and Nicole from Semina, each meal is created with intention, seasonal, mostly plant-based, and based on local ingredients. Simple, but very considered. The group stays small, with 7–10 people.
You can take part in everything, or take time for yourself. What to expect:– Daily yoga on the lake
– Guided cold plunge & breathwork
– Hike to an alpine lake
– Private sauna by the water
– Outdoor picnic & shared meals
– Nourishing brunch & curated dinners04–06 September 2026

The Golden Autumn Hideaway
Val Müstair 22–25 October 2026When the forests turn golden and the air becomes crisp, the mountains invite us to slow down and enjoy the last rays of sunshine. This retreat takes place in Val Müstair, one of the most untouched valleys in Switzerland, part of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Surrounded by quiet landscapes and wide alpine views, we step out of daily rhythm and into simplicity. Our home, Chasa Chalavaina, is a 770-year-old house full of warmth and character. A place where history, stillness, and thoughtful hospitality create the perfect setting to rest deeply. The days are gently structured with morning meditation and yoga, time to hike through golden forests or simply pause, and evening sessions to unwind. Sauna, nourishing meals rooted in the region, and guided cold plunges in natural water are part of the experience.Cold exposure is approached step by step, supported with breathwork and guidance, accessible for beginners and experienced participants. This retreat is perfect for those who want to reconnect with nature, take a break from daily life, and feel more grounded.Limited spots.

I flew to Albania to plan our very first retreat there. What started as a scouting trip quickly turned into days of exploring places I didn’t expect to find.We followed winding coastal roads, stopped whenever the water looked stunningly blue, climbed into boats with local skippers, hiked through canyons carved by crystal-clear rivers, and searched for places that felt special enough to share.Somewhere along the way, Albania completely surprised me.A quiet stretch of coastline far from the crowds. Long afternoons by the sea. Hidden caves only reachable by boat. Fresh fish straight from the grill. A villa tucked into the hills with a pool, sauna, and hammam, where the days seem to move a little slower. There was a moment standing above the water, looking out across the coastline, when I thought: this is it.This is where we have to bring people. Not just because it’s beautiful, but because it invites you to slow down. To spend more time outside. To stay for one more swim. To sit a little longer over dinner. And now I can’t wait to share it with you.Join me for six days of sea, yoga, adventure, incredible food, and a side of Albania that most people never get to see.The Azure Horizon Retreat

Some of the most important moments of the retreat happen before breakfast, before conversations, before the day fully begins. The room is prepared slowly with care and love, while it’s still quiet outside. Blankets folded by hand, incense burning in the corner, the fire slowly warming the space. Sometimes all you hear is wood cracking, tea being poured, or soft footsteps on the floorboards. We begin the mornings in silence. We believe in the magic of quiet and slow mornings. It changes the way people arrive into the day. More aware of their breath, their body, and their energy. These mornings have become one of the parts people remember most from our retreats. Because in daily life, we rarely give ourselves this slow and intentional kind of start to the day. Yet, it makes all the difference. And maybe, we can take a little piece of that home.
We woke up to grey skies and rain over Zurich and honestly weren’t sure if the morning would unfold the way we imagined.Instead of gathering outside, we moved together inside a warm studio while the rain hit the windows. And like a miracle, right after Savasana, the sun iluminated the studio. Just in time, a dry window made it perfect to walk towards the lake. Wrapped in towels and layers, half laughing, half nervous about the cold water waiting for us, Nives guided us step by step, making the plunge a moment to turn inwards and build resilience. The clarity and refreshed energy after made the matcha at the pop-up Casa St. Moritz even tastier. These are the mornings that stay with you most.A wonderful group of women who barely knew each other a few hours earlier, cheering each other on at the edge of the lake, stepping into the water at their own pace, then warming up afterwards over coffee, matcha, and long conversations.Thank you for bringing such an open, supportive, and beautiful energy to this City Reset. And thank you to @movewithjojo , @semina.ch @stmoritz and @dasrosamammut for helping shape this rainy Zurich morning into something special.

We almost cancelled because of the weather.Thank god we didn’t!
We spent the morning moving with @movewithjojo while the rain passed through Zurich, walked to the lake between showers for a cold plunge guided by @eggernives nourished by Nicole and Jana from @semina.ch , and had matcha from @dasrosamammut at the pop up Casa St.Moritz @stmoritz with cold hands slowly warming up again, and watched a group of strangers leave a little more awake and recharged than they arrived.Thank you to everyone who joined us for The City Reset — Zurich.

We talk a lot about “resetting” but it rarely looks the same. For some, it’s waking up without an alarm.
For others, it’s stepping into cold water and staying a little longer than expected.
Or sitting at a table, eating slowly, without checking your phone.A reset doesn’t have to be big.
Sometimes it’s just the moment things start to feel a bit quieter again. We don’t define what that should look like.
We create the space where it can happen, through movement, cold, food, nature, and time shared with others. Now we’re curious:What does a reset actually look like for you?Write it in the comments or share it in the box in our stories.
The Golden Autumn Hideaway
Val Müstair — 22–25 October 2026There are places where everything slows down naturally.
Where the days feel simpler, and the noise fades.Val Müstair is one of those places.A wide valley, crisp autumn air, mountains all around. You wake up, step outside, and the world already feels different. These days are shaped by movement and stillness in equal measure. We hike through the valley, letting the landscape set the pace.
We arrive at local culture through a visit to Tessanda, where weaving has been done slowly, by hand, for generations. We gather around food that belongs to this place — simple, local gastronomy that reflects the valley. And we return to the body: yoga in the quiet, warmth in the sauna, and cold plunges that sharpen the senses. Our home is a historic house with deep roots and thick walls. A place that holds silence well, where fire and wood shape the atmosphere.Chasa Chalavaina has stood for centuries — and you feel that when you’re there. This is not a packed program.
It’s a small group, and the days unfold naturally.Movement. Rest. Heat. Cold. Nature. Culture. Food. Stillness. If you’re looking for something grounded, quiet, and real — this might be your time.22–25 October 2026
Small group
Not every retreat has to be intense. Our Azure Horizon Retreat in Albania is built around a different kind of experience, one that values ease just as much as challenge.Warm sun, movement, good food, time outside, and cold exposure introduced in a softer, more accessible way.We move, rest, and spend a few days in a place that naturally shifts the pace to slowness.Expect yoga, sauna, river dips, excursions, nourishing meals, and plenty of time in between for yourself to just be.A softer retreat for women who want the benefits of the practice, without the intensity of a more extreme retreat. The Azure Horizon Retreat

Every Ice & Yoga experience is built on three core pillars:Yoga
Ice Bath
Soul FoodThese are the foundation of everything we create. But what makes each retreat truly unique is everything that surrounds them. The local culture, the nature around us, meaningful conversations, and the community that forms when the right people gather in the same place.Because for us, it is never just one element that makes a retreat special. It is the combination of all of them. Now we’d love to know:Which pillar draws you in most and why?
Yoga, Cold, Soul Food… or perhaps it’s the atmosphere around ur that draws you in.Tell us below.

Creating space for others to reconnect with themselves is at the heart of Greta’s work.As a certified Wim Hof Method instructor and physiotherapist, she brings a grounded, science-based approach to cold exposure. For her, the most rewarding part is simple: witnessing people step out of the ice calmer, more present, and deeply connected to their bodies.A practice that goes beyond the cold, into awareness, resilience, and real presence.Thank you @greta.puzone for guiding our Baltic Exeperience Retreat guests through a memorable ice baths.
Stepping into the unknown can be powerful.
Cédric, joined our Baltic Experience Retreat with curiosity, new to ice baths, yoga and meditation. What followed was a first cold immersion with Wim Hof instructor Greta @greta.puzone , that shifted his perspective, through guidance, breath, and trust. This is what happens when you give yourself the space to try something different, in the right environment. You don‘t need experience. Just willingness to begin. And isn‘t that what life is all about.Thank you to Cédric and everyone else who joined us, for your trust, openness, and presence. Until next year.
The Baltic Experience Retreat female only was absolutely amazing. We are so grateful for all the wonderful women who joined us in Labanoras forest. From yoga, Wim Hof workshops followed by ice baths in the frozen lake, traditional Lithuanian Sauna ritual, delicious food, vision boards, nature walks, and so much more… What happens in that forest is just magical. The second retreat started yesterday and we are in love! Follow along and check our stories. Maybe you’ll join us next year. 🩵
There are places that ask nothing from you.
They simply invite you to arrive.Deep in the snowy landscape of Labanoras Forest, surrounded by stillness and a private lake, this retreat unfolds in a setting that naturally slows the pace. Just forest, water, and winter light. It is powerful to witness what happens here.
When people step away from daily demands and into nature, something shifts. Clarity emerges. The body softens. Focus returns. And it is not only our guests who feel it.
As a team, we notice it every time.We are preparing the final details for the first week of the Baltic Experience retreat 2026 starting this Tuesday, and we cannot wait! And… a few last spots remain for those who feel ready to step into the forest with us in the second week: March 10-15.

Last weekend’s Yoga & Ice Bath Workshop in St. Moritz was amazing. The recipe for an invigorating ice bath is focus, and a calm breath.
That quiet confidence that comes from meeting discomfort directly, without force.Ice baths are not about pushing limits or proving something. It’s about learning to stay with yourself, under pressure. First in the cold, then also in life.Cold exposure paired with movement and breath creates a space where the body leads and the mind follows. No coaching talk. No performance. Just experience. If this speaks to you, the Baltic Experience Retreat in Lithuania is built on the same principles: Nature, cold, movement, and simplicity.
A small group. Clear structure. Space to reset. There’s still a few spots left. ❄️
Lithuania is not an obvious choice.
And that‘s exactly why you should visit.
The Baltic Experience Retreat takes place in a quiet part of Lithuania surrounded by forest, water and space.Everything is designed to feel simple and supported: Clear structure, nourishing food, traditional sauna, guided ice baths, daily movement and time outside. No pressure to share.
No performance.
Just an environment that allows clarity to emerge naturally.Transport from Vilnius is included.
The currency is Euro. The land is magnificent. The country is safe, calm and easy to navigate.March 10-15
Only a few spots remaining. If you feel drawn to something a little different this is your moment.Apply via the link in bio.
Behind every retreat is a team.Hosting with care takes more than a vision.
It takes trust, experience, and people who know their craft. In this chapter of our new series, you meet the women who brought our first retreat in Lithuania to life.
Nives as host, holding the vision and guests.
Fabienne guiding yoga with clarity and presence.
Nina creating food that nourished far beyond the plate.Alongside them, Inga holding the sauna rituals and Greta guiding the ice, each bringing depth, professionalism, and calm to the experience.Different personalities. Different disciplines.
One shared intention. You can feel the harmony in how they work together, grounded, attentive, and deeply committed to creating a space where guests feel cared for from start to finish. This retreat is shaped by women who lead with skill, responsibility, and genuine love for what they do.
And that energy became part of everything.Join us this March 2026 and experience the magic. Link and details in bio.
What happens when different worlds come together? At Ice & Yoga, we bring experts from yoga, breathwork, cold exposure, sauna culture and gastronomy into one shared space.
Not to do more, but to go deeper and create unique experiences. We choose locations that are off the usual map. Places that invite presence, slowness, and connection, with nature, with others, and with yourself. This is the beginning of a short documentary series, where we share the philosophy behind our retreats and the people who shape them.Follow for more… 🩵
In this village, life moves more slowly. Our first Winter Hideaway Retreat in Val Müstair has come to a close, shaped by stillness, warmth, and new friendships. We slept in one of the oldest hotels in Switzerland, where history, simplicity, and attentive service invited us to truly slow down.At Ice and Yoga, we prioritise unique locations, thoughtful hospitality, and carefully curated programmes that come together to create unforgettable retreat experiences. Our days unfolded through yoga & meditation, breath, and sound, while candlelight walks through the dark led us to the yoga shala.Held by the valley and its winter landscapes, we embraced the contrast of warmth and cold, including sauna sessions and moments in the icy river that awakened body and mind.Between tradition, nature, and shared silence, connections formed effortlessly, leaving us grounded, open, and deeply nourished.Thank you to everyone who made this Retreat unforgettable.
We are grateful for the moments together that created memories for a long time. ❄️🩵
Our hearts are full, our bodies relaxed, our minds calm: After the most magical start into 2026 with our first ever Winter Hideaway Retreat in Val Müstair. We couldn‘t have wished for a better group of beautiful people.
The delicious food, prepared with the best ingredients out of the valley and made with attention to detail and love by the talented chef Oliver. The unique experience of staying at historic Chasa Chalavaina @chasa.chalavaina , run by the wonderful Isolde, and the mesmerising landscapes made this retreat incredibly special.Enjoy impressions of the retreat: From daily yoga, ice baths, sauna, visiting Tessanda, the oldest still active hand-weaving mill in Switzerland, to a guided hike by a local to experience the magic of the valley.Thank you to everyone who made this retreat unforgettable. 🤍
Some of the most meaningful connections don’t happen in workshops or on the mat.
They happen around the table.Sharing nourishing food, unhurried conversations, laughter, and quiet moments in between.
A space where you can arrive as you are, be yourself, and feel at home, even among people you’ve just met.At the retreat, community forms naturally.
With presence, good food, and shared moments. We can’t wait for Corinne @corinnevenegas to spoil us throughout the retreat with her deliciously unique creations. Are you joining us?

Meet Nives — the founder and heart behind Ice & Yoga. For our new community members, this is the woman who turned an idea into unforgettable retreats and meaningful moments shared in cold lakes, warm saunas, and open-hearted spaces. With a background in hospitality and event management, Nives brings a rare blend of precision, presence, and genuine care. For her, service is not a detail, it’s the foundation. Every retreat, every workshop, every breath and every plunge is crafted so you feel held, supported, and seen. She’s a lover of yoga and the cold, but never the one to tell you how long to stay or how it should look. Her approach is simple: meet the challenge with softness, find that sweet spot of ease within effort, and let the experience show you what you’re capable of.Effort and ease: Not as a slogan, but as a way of meeting life.Nives is a woman who had a vision and the courage to follow it. And Ice & Yoga is the space born from that courage. We cannot wait for the upcoming retreats, and Nives is always the busy bee preparing and organizing every little detail, so you can enjoy a unique experience and meet yourself deeper than before.

Step inside the timeless charm of our retreat home in the mountains: Hotel Chasa Chalavaina in Val Müstair. First mentioned as an Inn in 1254, this lovingly restored gem carries centuries of history while offering the warm comfort and functionality we seek for our Winter Hideaway Retreat. After its careful renovation in 2022, the hotel beautifully balances heritage and simplicity. Inside, antique details meet modern craftsmanship, hand-woven textiles from the local Tessanda Handweberei @tessanda.handweberei.muestair , and regional materials that root you in the spirit of the valley. The kitchen works exclusively with local produce: Grains, butter, cheese, and herbs sourced from the surrounding fields and monastery farms, celebrating a deep connection to nature and community. This is why we chose it as the home for our Winter Hideaway: a place where mountain silence meets grounding rituals, where the open fire, the scent of local wood, and the rhythm of the valley create the perfect setting for rest, reflection, and renewal.
Here, we flow through yoga and meditation, awaken the body in the ice bath, and relax again in the warmth of the sauna, surrounded by nature’s quiet power. And then there’s Isolde: The heart of Chasa Chalavaina. With her warmth, professionalism, and effortless charm, she brings the house to life. Her care and attention to detail make every stay feel personal, genuine, and deeply welcoming. It’s her hospitality that makes this historic place feel like home.#iceandyoga #valmüstair #valmüstairbiosfera #retreat #historichotel #craftsmanship #icebath #sauna #yoga #mindfulness

In 2021, she became a certified LYT Method teacher and began combining traditional yoga with functional movement. Her passion for movement later expanded into fitness, guided by her belief that movement is medicine: building resilience, restoring balance, and enhancing quality of life.

My name is Fortesa and I have been passionate about cooking ever since I was four years old. Rather than rigidly following recipes or set menus, I embrace a creative and intuitive approach in the kitchen. I enjoy experimenting, so each dish has a touch of spontaneity, but I also value simplicity and like to highlight the natural quality of the ingredients.

I adapt my cooking according to the season, the weather and my guests' preferences, ensuring a personalised and memorable experience. Above all, I cook with great passion and care, and spices are an essential part of my cuisine.

I look forward to welcoming you to Albania, where you may even have the opportunity to join me in the kitchen!

Nives

Eventmanager and Founder of Ice and Yoga Retreats

I have always loved the feeling after a good yoga session and the invigorating sensation of a dip in icy water. These experiences bring me immense joy and satisfaction.

My journey began with a degree in Hotel Management in Lucerne, Switzerland. For many years, I worked as an event manager, organizing a wide range of events and attending many retreats myself.

This year, I also started as a "safe-space" holder at Keen Wellbeing, where I help participants get into the ice bath. Combining my personal passions with my professional expertise, I am dedicated to creating unforgettable retreats.

Using my background in hospitality and event management, I design experiences that leave participants feeling recharged and inspired.

It gives me great joy to see people happy and fulfilled, whether it's after an invigorating ice bath or a delicious meal.
I can't wait to meet you! Love, Nives

My cooking is inspired by nature, characterised by curiosity and driven by a deep love of detail. I love cooking over an open fire and experimenting with different ingredients.

In autumn 2025, I will be immersing myself further in the world of wild flavours with an internship at Stefan Wiesner's restaurant in Entlebuch.
To me, cooking is about more than just food. It's a form of expression and an experience. It's also an invitation to pause for a moment.
